A Blast from the Past

Dear Friends,

The following articles about angels and Nibiru were on my previous website, before migrating here to WordPress.

I think they say much, though, and thought it would be good to group them together for “one-click” accessibility.

Also wanted to take the opportunity to let you know that starting today, May 21st – Thursday, May 25th, I’m running a #free #ebook promotion for three of my books: The Truth about Angels, Part I, Veronica’s Story and The Little Book of Angel Quotations (LBAQ).

Thank you for your interest in my books!

God bless and may you see angels,

Alvin Avery

THE FOLLOWING IS PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED MATERIAL

NIBIRU IS COMING

Nibiru is an inhabited world. It is approaching Earth and will arrive soon.

Earth is undergoing a dimensional transition. This transition will involve many cataclysms.  Some cataclysms will be caused by weather (like storms), others will be geographical (like earthquakes and pole shift).

The angels have come to announce Nibiru’s arrival and prepare humanity for the Great Change. What is the Great Change? It has to do with elevating the vibrational frequency of Earth and its inhabitants.

The change will be painful because certain ‘structures’ must be destroyed before new ones can be built.

The angels have come to help people during the transition.

Although fear is a normal reaction to change, God’s love, which flows through his angels, is the force that will help people move through the transition.

A great earthquake followed by a tsunami hit Japan recently. It is one example of the cataclysms that we face.

The knowledge that more such cataclysms will occur means that, instead of being afraid, we should increase our faith.

Faith not fear

Faith is the conviction that no matter what lies ahead, God’s angels are here to protect us.  We don’t face cataclysms alone; we are helped.

Although some people will be terrified by unfolding events (like wars, earthquakes and tsunamis), it’s important to remember that nothing can happen that God doesn’t allow to happen.

NO FEAR

When we think about the imminent passage of the planet Nibiru and the cataclysmic events that will accompany its passage, a not-entirely-inappropriate reaction would be fear.

No fear

Since Nibiru passes by Earth approximately every 3,600 years and has already done so many, many times, there is no reason to fear.

An organized cosmos

The universe in which we live is an organized universe. The orbit on which Nibiru moves is a sure orbit.

Lessons into the mind of God

God thinks differently than we think. He operates differently than we do. He doesn’t give us information to frighten us, but to give us the choice of how to respond to such information.

Love

God is love. His purpose in sending his holy angels on salvation missions is to love, heal and help us overcome situations that we would otherwise not be able to overcome on our own.

Mercy

God is merciful. The amount of grace that he pours out on his children is commensurate to the difficulties that we experience.

A different perspective

We need to understand that in order for a new creation to be born, a new Earth if you will, certain aspects of the old must be destroyed.

If we rush to judgment and say that this is ‘bad,’ ‘mean,’ or ‘gloom and doom,’ we fail to understand or refuse to accept the creation-destruction cycles of our universe.

The moment is now

We are living in a most exciting time. The moment to embrace Nibiru’s passage is now. Rejecting the moment is tantamount to rejecting our future which is the fourth dimension!

Encouragement

Dear Reader, I encourage you not to fear the coming of Nibiru, but to embrace it. God loves you to a degree that is unfathomable. No matter where you live on Earth, no matter what lies ahead for you, God’s holy angels are right there by your side to help you through.

With love,

Alvin Avery

A NATURAL THRILL

Many of us seek thrills in order to spice up our lives. We watch adventure movies, go on roller coaster rides and, perhaps, participate in extreme sports. Sometimes, we engage in extreme behaviors and go so far as to develop addictions in order to satisfy our unmet need for thrills.

Once you begin to see and recognize angels, though, you’ll understand that nothing can be more thrilling. When you realize that the ‘person’ in front of you is actually a form created using projected thought-consciousness and that this form comes straight from heaven, you will never be the same again.

Unlike artificial or, unnatural thrills that produce excitement and, when they end, a letdown, angelic appearances are naturally thrilling.

Natural thrills are not addictive and fill us with:  awe, wonder and gratitude.

I never cease to be amazed by God’s goodness and grace when they appear in the form of his holy angels. I feel loved and protected to an unimaginable degree.

The five steps to getting a natural thrill

  1. If you want to see and recognize angels, you must be patient.
  2. Pay attention to your surroundings.
  3. Anticipate that you will see angels.
  4. Believe that you’ll see angels.
  5. When you see angels, enjoy the manifestation and feel the thrill.

ANGELIC DISGUISES

When we think about disguises, we think about hats, sunglasses, false beards, costumes and wigs.

Angelic disguises, however, involve complete body transformations.

Angels, entirely made of light, can change their:  hair type, hair color, size, skin color, nose, eye shape, eye color, body type as well as add moles, scars, pimples, birthmarks and tattoos at will.

Although this may sound fantastic, it is not. I spend much time describing angelic appearances in my books, Lessons from my guardian angel and The truth about angels, Part I, citing example after example that show how angels transform.

When angels, who come from the fourth dimension, walk among us, they look so real and play their parts so well that it is almost impossible to tell the difference.

Since angels are perfect, they can’t get sick. Illness, however, may also be part of their disguise. This is because people get sick and angels, in order to blend in our society, must show the same weakness to fit in.

Angels, using their fourth-dimension abilities, can easily manipulate matter to produce whatever effect is needed to look human. Angelic disguises enable the angels, God’s servants, to walk among us virtually unnoticed.

TRUST IN ANGELIC APPEARANCES

I’ve witnessed over two hundred and sixty-six angelic appearances to date. The level of trust between my guardian angel and me wasn’t the same in the beginning, however, as it is now. It takes time to build trust between people and the same is true between people and angels. The level of trust that exists between my guardian angel and me now is much deeper than when I first began witnessing angelic manifestations.

Trust building is based on repeated patterns of predictable behavior. My angel trusts me because they know that, when given information, I will treat it responsibly. Taking responsibility means taking into consideration the seriousness of angelic appearances.

Angels take their integration into and engagement with our society seriously as should we. Angelic manifestations come at a price. Angels court danger in the course of performing their missions on Earth. The fact that they include us in this process shouldn’t be taken lightly.  We should be grateful for being included in this miraculous process.

Angels take their responsibility in appearing seriously and so should we. Seeing them means that we are actually witnessing miracles. The more our guardian angel trusts us, the more will be revealed to us. Trust, therefore, is the cornerstone to growth in angelic manifestations.

The 10 keys to trust building

  1. Follow directions. In angelic encounters, it’s very important to follow your guardian angel’s lead.
  2. Don’t make any sudden moves or behave unpredictably. Remember, trust is based on predictable behavior.
  3. Be sensitive to how a manifestation unfolds. Circumstances and external factors count.
  4. Behave appropriately. The fact that you’re being included in angelic appearances doesn’t put you on an equal footing with angels. We are ‘a little lower than the angels.’ (Psalms, 8:5, KJV)
  5. Pay attention and remember what you see. This will make your guardian angel trust you more and show you more.
  6. Remain calm during angelic manifestations. No good can come out of agitation.
  7. Trust God. Have faith that as you sensitively participate in angelic appearances, you will grow in trust and more will be revealed to you appropriately.
  8. Relish your guardian angel’s love.
  9. Be patient. Patience is extremely important in angelic manifestations. Angels manifest when they want to, not when you want them to.
  10. Allow the glory of the angels you see to rub off on you. This will help you be perfect as your Father is in heaven. (Matthew 5:48, KJV)

The Supernatural Origin of my Books

Zion, book cover

An earlier book cover for Zion, the Holy City of God.

When I started seeing angels (my guardian angel and other angels) for the first time, I didn’t know it then, but my father would soon take the new family car and abandon our family in Bulgaria. I describe how these events transpired in my book, The Truth about Angels, Part I. God knew that this would happen, though, and prepared me. God prepared me by ‘giving’ me my two seminal books, Zion, the Holy City of God and Armageddon–the fate of the Lofty Nation and Beyond. I put the word ‘giving’ in quotation marks because it was almost as if it were automatic writing. My pen flowed effortlessly as the books came to me through divine inspiration. I was guided as to which page of the Bible to turn to for a particular chapter.

After Zion and Armageddon, I was instructed by my guardian angel and given lesson after lesson that became Lessons from my Guardian Angel. This book came about by my witnessing and methodically and meticulously documenting angelic appearances (with my guardian angel and other angels) most of which took place in Kostenets, Bulgaria. This book is a primer in angelic behavior. More books followed.

When I thought that I knew everything a person could know about angels, I was introduced to the Anunnaki. I should say, the Anunnaki introduced themselves to me, again, in Bulgaria. My dialogues with the Anunnaki resulted in two books, Communications from the Anunnaki I—Telepathic Messages from the Gods and The Gods Speak—Telepathic Messages from the Anunnaki. The way that beings who reside in higher dimensions communicate is cyclical. This means that information is repeated. I don’t know why this is so, but theorize that it happens in order to reinforce ideas, so that we absorb them. In the same way, perhaps, that songs have refrains.

Today, I live in Toronto, Ontario. My guardian angel continues to manifest for me both  briefly and in prolonged appearances, although I am deliberately not documenting these manifestations.

Since I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that my guardian angel is with me always, whether they appear to me in manifest form or not is not important. Although I enjoy it very much when this happens, I always remember that angels manifest when they want to, not when I want them to.

God bless and may you see angels,

Alvin Avery

Christmas Message

An exotic holiday.

An exotic holiday.

Angels, when seen in their true form, as they appear in heaven, are glorious creatures.

When they appear on Earth, though, they need to, literally, lower their vibration in order for us to be able to see and interact with them. This happens through something called projected thought consciousness. Projected thought consciousness is a sophisticated way of saying that angels, in their true form, can project their thoughts and materialize as holographic images in the 3D Matrix in which we live.

Please understand that when angels appear in human form, there is almost nothing that differentiates them from us. In my numerous eBooks, Books and articles about angels, I have written thousands of pages and hundreds and thousands of words to describe how angels appear, and the subtle differences that enable us to recognize angels in manifest form. Recognition involves both undergoing a process and developing a relationship. Recognition happens within the story. You cannot begin to hope to see and recognize angels without having undergone some type of (a) initiation (which is not dependent on you, but on angels) and (b) training (again, prepared by angels).

The idea of people being images is not new. The Toltecs and the Mayans believed this. They believed that we are projections from the Divine Matrix. This view, which is the opposite of the materialistic world view, holds that all matter in the universe is supported by a much larger, spiritual reality.

God is closer to us than we think

The idea that angels can appear in human form, live complete lives even, as they interact with us on this lower dimensional level, is simply mind-boggling. It means that God, the source from which angels come, is very interested in us and our existence. So much so, in fact, that he sends his representatives, angels, to be with us.

Angels care about us yet allow for free will

All of the angels with whom I’ve interacted have always respected my free will. In spite of their great power, foreknowledge and ability to partially see into the future, angels do not (with a few exceptions) interfere with our free will. Earth is one of the last, few bastions in the universe where free will still exists. In other dimensions and more advanced civilizations, this is no longer the case.

Nibiru

What is the relationship between angels and Nibiru? Nibiru is a planet that flies by Earth approximately every 3,600 years. It moves on an elliptical orbit. Many angels live on Nibiru. We could say, therefore, that Nibiru is the home of angels.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays & a Joyous and Blessed New Year 2016!

God bless and may you see angels,

Alvin Avery

An Angel between Heaven and Earth

Angel above the threshingfloor

King David’s heart was close to God.

Nevertheless, one day he decides to number the inhabitants of Israel and Judah, something that displeased God. (2 Samuel 24:1, KJV).

David repents, but God, through David’s seer, Gad, gives him the choice of three punishments to choose from: seven years of famine; running from a pursuing enemy for three months; or three days of pestilence. (2 Samuel 24:13, KJV). David decides to put himself in God’s hands rather than men’s and the three days of pestilence begin. (2 Samuel 21:14-15, KJV)

After 70,000 people die of the plague, God says to the destroying angel ready to strike Jerusalem, “Stop. It is enough. Hold off.” (2 Samuel 24:16, KJV, my interpretation)

In a parallel rendition of the story (1 Chronicles 21:15, KJV, ff), David lifts up his eyes and sees the destroying angel suspended between earth and heaven with a drawn sword in his hand ominously stretched out over Jerusalem. (v. 16) He and the elders of Israel are afraid and fall down on their faces. (Ibid.) Ornan (a.k.a. Araunah), owner of the threshingplace near which the angel hovers, and his four sons also see the angel, are afraid, and hide. (v. 20)

David implores the angel to punish him and not the innocent people. (2 Samuel 24:17,KJV)

Then, Gad the seer comes to David and instructs him to erect an altar dedicated to God at the threshingplace (click here for the special significance of threshingplace) in order to stop the plague. (v. 18) He does so and the plague is stopped. (1 Chronicles 21:26-27)

In spite of what must have been an awesome and frightening sight—an angel in the sky with a drawn sword in his hand, ready to continue striking—David addresses the angel. David says to the angel, “Look, it was my fault. Please don’t kill innocent people because of my poor choice.” David doesn’t know at this point in the narrative that God had already changed his mind and decided to stop the plague. (1 Chronicles 21:15, KJV)

Even so, action is still required. David talks to the angel and gets information through his seer, Gad, about what to do. In this case, build an altar on the threshingfloor and sacrifice to God. (1 Chronicles 21: 26, KJV) God accepts the sacrifice and tells the angel to put his sword in its sheath. (1 Chronicles 21:26-27, KJV)

The plague is conclusively stopped.

The Fidelity of Angels

Jacob’s Ladder

In Genesis, Jacob dreams of a ladder.

“And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.” (Genesis 28:11-13, KJV)

God imparted this dream to Jacob in order to show him how angels continuously move from heaven to earth. The ladder is a metaphor for the path that angels continuously travel on to get from “there” to “here.”

Since travel happens interdimensionally, though, it is incorrect to think of movement over distance. Yet, as mortals who live in the third dimension, it is almost impossible for us not to do so. That’s because we need reference points.

The fidelity of angels

Angels are faithful because God is faithful. Since angels work for God, they faithfully perform the missions he assigns them. They faithfully go “back” and “forth” bridging the gap between corporeality and immortality.

Angels and mortals

Guardian angels have wards. They spend much time, therefore, thinking about their wards and figuring out ways to help them. I know this to be true because that’s exactly what my guardian angel does for me 24/7. I write about this extensively in my angel books.

The hairs on your head

God knows everything. He is omniscient. That’s why Saint Luke said,

“But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:6-8, KJV)

God assigns angels to us because we are important to him. We are precious and valuable. We matter to him highly.

Every breath we take

Because the fourth dimension—where angels live—never “sleeps,” our guardian angel is ever aware of what we’re doing. Every breath we take is felt by them. This is how close angels are to people and how much God loves us. There is an age-old relationship between people and angels.

Conscious awareness

If you believe that you have a guardian angel watching over you and that this angel is faithful to you from the moment of your birth to the time you pass away, then you’ll understand the depth of God’s love for you.

If you understand this concept, it will affect your behavior.

I’ve heard faithful people say that they no longer do things that will upset their guardian angel. This is because they are now able to consciously feel and appreciate their guardian angel’s presence, love and fidelity, and understand the responsibility involved in being a ward.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

God bless and may you see angels.

The Name of the Game is Patience

If you want to see angels, one of the things you’re going to have to learn is patience.

There were many times when manifestations were supposed to happen, but didn’t. This is because angels work on their schedule, not mine. Angels appear when they want to, not when I want them to.

It’s imperative, therefore, to follow the instructions your guardian angel gives you, be patient, and not get upset if things don’t happen the way you thought they would or think they should. Manifestations are often aborted for reasons that are outside our purview.

The best thing to do after you’ve received instructions is to wait. Yes, wait. I know, it’s not a lot of fun to just sit around and wait, but that may be precisely what you’ll need to do to learn patience, gain your angel’s trust, and be included more and more in the manifestation process.

The waiting game

In The Truth about Angels, Part I, I talk about how you you may have to strike a pose while waiting. Striking a pose may mean positioning your body in such a way as to not attract attention to yourself as you wait for your angel to manifest. How you do this—and you’ll need to be creative—will depend on your circumstances. I also discuss invisibility moves. This could involve: reading a newspaper, magazine or book; appearing to be absorbed in your cellular phone; picking at your skin, etc. These are very human practices and gestures that make you fit in and make others both accept your presence and not give you a second thought. In other words, performing such practices and gestures will give you the luxury of observing without being noticed.

Practice makes perfect

I also explain how manifestations happen with a certain order. Unlike our third dimension, the fourth dimension—one step up from ours—is very ordered. Angels do things in a certain, prescribed order. They don’t operate with the chaos and confusion that often characterize our third dimension. For example, my guardian angel has a perfect memory and remembers everything I’ve ever said! If hearing such a thought disturbs you, imagine what it would be like to have a relationship with a being who has this capacity.

Withstanding the test of time

Life offers a smorgasbord of learning experiences. Some are pleasant, others wonderful, yet others disturbing, distressing and debilitating.

Without the help of angels—and more specifically—our guardian angel, we wouldn’t be able to make it through the most difficult moments of our lives.

Whatever happens on the physical level of our existence is supported by the non-physical. This means that no matter what life throws at us, we are supported in the most perfect way.

The whole idea is to learn how to reach out to your guardian angel and develop the intimate relationship that will enable you to build the faith it takes to get you through anything in this world.

God bless and may you see angels,

Alvin Avery

Inspiration: The Key to Writing Effortlessly

Although I started writing novels in 2001 to heal from a broken marriage, it wasn’t until 2008 that I hit upon my passion: writing books about angels.

Before that, I was writing decent novels that anyone would enjoy. I worked hard at it and had even started a historical novel called Blair’s Rush that I abandoned midstream after my ‘eureka moment.’

In retrospect, I can tell you without hesitation that I didn’t get published because I was trying too hard and hadn’t yet discovered my passion.

Like a bolt of lightning

My inspiration—the peak experience that led me onto the adventure of a lifetime, writing books about angels—came like a bolt of lightning out of the blue. It wasn’t anything that I ever expected or dreamed would happen; and it certainly wasn’t anything that came from within me.

Katarino Spa

I remember being at Katarino Spa—a resort in Raduil, Bulgaria—when it happened.

Here’s what the place looks like:

Katarino Spa

Katarino Spa. Source BulgariaSki

Everything was happening perfectly in my life. I was enjoying a winter holiday when, out of the blue, bam!, I had a mystical experience  that would forever change my life.

It was, in my opinion, a mere coincidence that I was at Katarino Spa when I had the mystical experience. I could, in fact, have been anywhere, but it just so happened that I was there.

I remember lying in bed, looking at the soft light of the moon as it filtered through the window’s delicate curtain, when I had what can only be described as a paranormal experience. I ‘saw,’ ‘felt,’ and communicated telepathically with my guardian angel.

Before this event, I never thought much about angels. Although I’d studied at divinity school and had a theoretical understanding about angels, I never considered them let alone thinking that I might have one, specific, guardian angel.

This is why I say that the experience came out of ‘nowhere.’

Analyzing the peak experience

Once the vacation ended, I kept remembering the experience. I kept thinking about what I’d felt and what I’d learned from the mystical experience.

I began focusing on my guardian angel and ‘inquiring’ of them using my mind.

When I got back home, I couldn’t stop thinking about my guardian angel and even went ‘angel hunting,’ a no-no in the realm of angelic experiences. That’s because angels seek out people, not the other way around. Of course, I didn’t know that then, and made that mistake.

It will happen when you least expect it

The peak event, my eureka moment, was the starting point of a journey that would lead me to write books about angels.

It helped me understand that I didn’t need to struggle to write books; that books, rather, would be delivered to me on a platter. When I say this, bear in mind that I still had to take pen and paper or type on a keyboard in order to document the story. But I stopped struggling altogether.

Thanks for reading me.

God bless and may you see angels,

Alvin Avery

“Ezeroto”: A place of beauty and natural wonder

I just finished preparing a promotional review for my e-book, Pocket Prophecies. If all goes well, it should be available on askDavid.com soon. I’m determined to have this e-book become available in print form, too. In the meantime, I’m counting on your patience.

As I wrote what I thought was a fairly good description of the book, I reminisced about the place where I was inspired to write it, a hotel restaurant complex in Bulgaria called “Ezeroto.” It’s close to the town where I was inspired to write my angel books and I thought you might like to see a few images of the place.

Ezeroto 1

One of the owners, an artist and photographer, is clearly passionate about constantly improving the complex. He remodeled what used to be the open-air restaurant (behind the umbrellas, left) playing the role of construction worker in order to supervise the renovation personally. Lately, two outdoor pools were added. Here’s what one of them looks like:

Ezeroto 2

 Source: Internet.

The structure in the back has changing cabins. What I like about “Ezeroto”–in addition to its traditional, Bulgarian menu and refined cuisine–is the fact that it contains an animal sanctuary. There are pheasants, deer, and rabbits. The owner was able to procure the most unusual ducks that live in the man-made lake. They are multi-colored. Look at these digital images I took of one of the ducks.

Duck V

And,

Duck III

Have you ever seen such a fascinating duck? It was a first for me!

The way I got the ducks to approach me was to…, you guessed it, throw bits of bread into the lake. They came, but didn’t stay long which made photographing them difficult. It would seem that they are as elusive as they are beautiful.

Next to “Ezeroto” is “Vodopad” which means “Waterfall” in Bulgarian. Here’s what it looks like:

Waterfall

Image credit: The Official website of Pchelin village.

I cannot say in words just how peaceful standing next to this waterfall was for me. All of my worries would slip into the pristine, cascading water leaving me feeling refreshed.

There’s a path that leads up from “Ezeroto” to “Gurgulitsa,” a refuge where hikers can spend the night and order a bowl of soup or hot cider, for example. “Gurgulitsa” is beautiful year-round, but hard to reach in winter when there is an accumulation of snow.

This is a picture of the view from the refuge’s balcony. You can see how thick and green the adjoining forest’s foliage is.

Gurgulitsa

Source: Internet.

I visited “Gurgulitsa” many times and sat on this very balcony enjoying the view.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks for stopping by.

Angels at Grand: Reminiscing about my life in Bulgaria

The Café Grand brings back a lot of memories.

It’s located in the town where I first started seeing angels. I mention the name of the town in the preface of my book, The Truth about Angels, Part I.

The Café Grand, which I affectionately call Grand in my book (natives call it ‘Granda’), as well as whenever I refer to the establishment, offers a wide assortment of coffees. They also serve ice cream, sandwiches, chips, and alcoholic beverages. In Bulgaria, it’s legal to serve alcohol in coffee shops.

What’s special to me about this café, however, isn’t the selection, but the fact that, over the course of several years, I witnessed a multitude of angelic manifestations there. This is what Grand looks like:

The Cafe Grand

Do you see its name in red above the umbrellas? They say that you can learn much from observation. This is true.

In the beginning, I would always make sure to have pen and paper ready to take notes (and sometimes draw pictures) about what I was seeing. Over time, though, I learned how to memorize what I saw. I did this in order to be more discrete about what I was doing. The waitresses knew that I was a writer and would smile when they’d see me scribbling on pieces of paper or napkins. I didn’t mind, though, because I was secretly documenting a prolonged phenomenon that would end up being The Truth about Angels, Parts I & II.

Grand at night

On warm, summer evenings, when the sun starts to set, the  Café Grand turns on its lawn lights. You can see one of them in the image just above. These are very simple, elegant lights that are interspersed in front of and border the café’s perfectly tended lawn. The lights lend a romantic ‘aura’ to Grand and offer a much different ambiance than ‘Grand by day.’

I’ve had many wonderful and inspiring conversations with my guardian angel at Grand. I talk about these conversations and what came out of them in my book. In fact, I don’t just relate them, I give readers a detailed account of how the conversations unfolded, the context in which they transpired, and how they profoundly helped me.

Accepting supernatural phenomena

You cannot witness angelic manifestations and remain the same. Being exposed to and participating in prolonged, supernatural phenomena will change the way you understand the world. It will amaze, infuse, energize, enthuse and inspire you like never before.

I hope you enjoyed my second blog post. Stay tuned for more.

God bless and may you see angels,

Alvin Avery

Bulgaria: The place of my inspiration

Those of you who read The Truth about Angels, Part I may be interested to see a few photographs of the place where I was inspired to write this book. I mention the name of the town in the preface of my book. It’s a small, Bulgarian town, not too far from Sofia, the nation’s capital city. There’s nothing special about this town, except for the fact that it was there that I had my first experiences with angels. Here’s what the local reservoir looks like. You can see the Rila Mountain Range in the background with its snow-capped peaks.

The Reservoir

Sometimes, after a good rainfall, the greenery that ‘clothes’ the mountain becomes so lush, the air so pure and clean, that you can see for miles. Once, I thought that what I saw reminded me of the television series, Land of the Lost. It was almost as if, once you came to this place, you could never leave. There’s something about Bulgaria that pulls you in, draws you in and holds you firmly. Here’s a picture of the town’s church. Do you see the stork’s nest on top of the larger dome? In Bulgaria, storks are said to bring good luck.

The church

I saw angels in this church. But angels aren’t restricted to church. I saw them in different parts of this town, too. One of my most cherished memories is meeting my guardian angel at the Motel of Dolna Banya. I talk about him in the book. Here’s what the Motel’s pool looks like on a hot, summer day. Mostly full, with people of all ages soaking in the rays, some having a refreshing dip. Personally, it’s one of my all-time favorite swimming pools, probably on account of the memories.

The Dolna Banya Mote's pool

If you look closely, you may see Mom. The events I describe in the book are true. They really happened.

When I was writing this book, I listened to Bulgarian music. Here’s a YouTube video that will give you an idea about what it sounds like. There are a few English mistakes in the presentation which you’ll overlook, I’m sure.

When you watch the clip, it will give you a glimpse of Bulgarian music, history and culture. Images of well-known Bulgarians, common folk, and the city of Plovdiv, once known as Philipoppolis, are just a few examples. The dancers at the start of the video are actually walking barefoot on burning hot embers. They do so without feeling any pain whatsoever.

Bulgarian Folklore: Music from Eternity

This You Tube video, The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices, is of higher quality. Have a look.

So, what did you think of those voices? I think they’re amazing. I hope you enjoyed my first blog post. Stay tuned for more!

God bless, and may you see angels,

Alvin Avery
